In this extensive residential renovation, Eagle & Franich managed the upgrade of a two storey weatherboard and tile house while retaining and seemlessly extending character features of the existing house into new additions. Existing timber panelling in the entry and stairwell was sanded back to bare wood and stained. The front living room was enlarged and opened up with new glazed sliding timber doors with exterior sliding shutters, plus a new double garage extension was built adjacent to the entry.

A new single level addition was built at the rear of the house featuring a new kitchen, dining area and family living space. Sliding and stacking timber glazed doors, clear glazed louvres and high clerestory windows provide abundant natural light and direct connection with the outdoors. New weatherboard cladding was custom run to match the existing cladding and the addition features a standing seam metal roof. On the first floor a bay window was added to the main bedroom, opening out to views from a new deck. The family bathroom and ensuite on the first floor feature frameless glass showers and full height mosaic wall tiling.
